Grilling On The Go, Portable Charcoal Grills

Portable Charcoal Grills

Everyone loves to cook out. There is just something about food cooked outdoors that appeals to us all. With the availability of portable charcoal grills, you can take your cookout anywhere.

Apartment dwellers are familiar with the little table top grills. Their small size makes them perfect for a tiny balcony. They can be charcoal fired, propane fueled, or even electric. You can even go to the grocery store and buy a portable and disposable grill. Just cook your burgers and throw the whole mess in the trash when you’re done.

We’re such a mobile society today, it’s no wonder that portable grilling has progressed beyond the Coleman stove familiar to campers. The only disadvantage to the very small portable grills is their size. If you are cooking for a large crowd, they are not practical. Of course, several people could bring one to the party and share the cooking duties.

Many charcoal grills, though larger are still fairly portable if you have a pick up truck or van. Propane grills will work as well. You just have to haul the tank along too. If you are cooking out in a very remote area, the electric grills will not be a good choice as power is most likely not available.

Hard core tailgaters are not deterred in their pursuit of cooking out. They bring the big grills and many have very elaborate set ups. I have seen grills so large, they are pulled behind the vehicle on their own wheels. This is also common in competition grilling.

For those of us with normal lives, a small portable charcoal grill will do just fine. So pack your coolers and portable grills and get out there and cook.
